Gel Based Skincare

If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll remember that Forever had a skincare collection named Aloe Fleur de Jouvence. That collection was my skincare regime since I started my business and my skin was loving it.

When I found out that the collection was being discontinued part of me went into panic mode, so much so I bought into the buy one get one free promotion just so I still had a supply while I research what I would try out next.

Around April, I ran out of the last of my Aloe Fleur collection and had to dare and just try something new and hope that my skin does not break out. While learning about the new Sonya Daily Skincare system, I had was a bit skeptical about the concept of a gel-based skincare system. I just thought my skin would be dry out and break out especially with winter fast approaching.

What you need to know about this collection is:

The product is made specifically for combination skin and features a high concentration of Aloe and other moisturizing botanicals.

The collection consists of:

• Sonya Refreshing Gel Cleanser: Aloe gel and natural cleansers help remove dead cells, dirt and makeup.

• Sonya Illuminating Gel: A quick -absorbing gel that gives a soft, smooth and even complexion that glows.

• Sonya Refining Gel Mask: An over-nigh mask that controls oil and brightens the appearance of skin

• Sonya Soothing Gel Moisturizer: A gel-based lotion that uses powerful ingredients to moisturize and improve the look of skin.

The fragrance in the products come from natural botanicals and fruit extracts.

My review:

I have combination skin. I used the skincare system as is from April when I got it until mid-June when I decided to add the balancing toner and replace the gel moisturizer with the forever day lotion for my day routine and propolis crème at night. Now that it’s getting warmer again, I am back to having the gel moisturizer as part of my regime and I’m happy.

Refreshing Gel Cleanser

I like this cleanser; my skin feels rejuvenated and refreshed. I like how my skin does not feel stripped but moisturized after use.

Illuminating Gel

This is one of my favorites in the collection. It was part of my dewy makeup look this past winter. It will surely be part of my summer routine as well. I apply it on the parts I would highlight and like the natural glow that comes through underneath my makeup.

Illuminating Gel Moisturizer

I like how supple my skin feels after using this product. I discontinued use in winter because my skin did not feel as moisturized. Winter in Bloemfontein is something else on the skin. With the weather warming up, I look forward to having it back in my routine.

Refining Gel Mask

I think this product alone is a game changer; I have never used anything like it, and I can’t find the words to best describe it. This product is the secret behind a well-rested skin, even if I just slept 4-5 hours.

Conclusion

A little goes along way when it comes to these products. I am glad I went for the product despite feeling skeptical after the Aloe Fleur collection had been discontinued. It is a product I will continue to use and would recommend those shopping around for skincare to try it out too.
